Hairline
scratches and finger marks can be removed with quality wax
such as "Johnson & Johnson" car polish,
applied with cotton wool and then buffed up with a soft
cotton, or silk cloth. In fact, fingertips are used in the
very final stage of top quality lacquer production to give
the best glossy finish and conditioning!
No lacquer
ware can be placed in a microwave or dishwasher and great
care should be taken to HAND WASH all items in warm water
with a mild detergent, using no abrasive materials.
Lacquer can
withstand hot, but NOT boiling liquids, especially as many
bowls are fashioned out of spun bamboo, which could burst.
Please rinse any lacquer items that have been exposed to
acids such as vinegar in salad dressings or in sushi. Please
note that the Japanese place a fresh leaf under their sushi,
not only for aesthetic reasons, but also to act as a barrier
between the lacquer and the vinegar, as this would soon
spoil the shiny aspect of all lacquers.
If in doubt
about using lacquer ware, do remember that it has been a
part of daily life in Asia for thousands of years and it
continues to be. Sharp utensils are to be avoided and horn
spoons and chopsticks tend to be the best.
Most of all
enjoy your lacquer product and remember that it has been
totally made by hand in Vietnam. There is no other piece
exactly as your. We hope you would enjoy with your items.
